Free Places to Self-Publish

Are you wondering how to get your manuscript out there to the public once editing and formatting are complete? Look no further!

Here is a non-exhaustive list of some of your free options to directly publish your ebook to reach the eager masses that have yet to discover your work. There are other publishing companies that do charge fees (e.g., Ingram), which you could also use. They may provide additional services such as advertising your book for you.

Make sure you read and agree with the terms and agreements before publishing with one of these companies. There might be some clauses that you aren’t willing to agree to with respect to how they are able to use and profit from your book.

Please note that some of these companies will distribute your work through some of the other outlets listed here as well (“Global retail distribution” below means that the publishing company may distribute through Amazon Kindle, Apple Books, Kobo, and more).
